TITLE: Volunteer Fund Developer

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

PROJECT DATES: 1/10 – 5/11
|

FUNCTION: Volunteer position toassist in the areas of community representation, fund development, and marketing to prepare and guide the agency through a capital campaign to begin December 2010, ending in May 2011. Provides support to the board of directors and its Resource/Development Committee by carrying out their directives for the campaign.
|
|
RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
1. Community Representation: Work closely with the executive director and Resource/Development committee of the board of directors to represent the agency in the community. Assure agency representation at relevant community, regional and statewide councils, networks, and events that further the agency’s mission.
2. Fund Development: Support the executive director and Resource/Development Committee in establishing systems that support the various aspects of fund development consistent with the agency’s mission.
3. Grant writing: Seek and assist in applying for grants as directed by the executive director and Resource/Development Committee.
4. Events planning: Arrange major fundraising events to help support the purchase of a new building and related technology.
5. Marketing: Coordinate agency marketing efforts to enhance fundraising. Create a presence on social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook.

MI MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Prior public relations, grant writing and fund development experience.
