For Adoptive Families
An adoption social worker will help you:
- Understand your options
- Conduct a home study to prepare you for the adoption
- Create a family profile and present your profile to birth parents
- Understand open vs. closed adoption
- Make plans that center on the child’s needs
During the adoption process, we provide the following:
- Ensure that legal requirements are understood and implemented
- Coordinate your plan with medical providers and hospital
- Provide supportive counseling
- Facilitate a compassionate plan for the day the child is placed with a family
- If desired, help with communication following the adoption
