For Birth Parents
An adoption social worker will:
- Talk about the options for an unplanned pregnancy
- Answer questions about adoption
- Support whatever decision is right for you
If you decide to pursue adoption, you have the right to:
- Choose the family
- Meet prospective adoptive parents
- Plan whether or not to have contact with the adoptive family
During the adoption process, we provide the following:
- Ensure that legal requirements are understood and implemented
- Coordinate your plan with medical providers and hospital
- Provide supportive counseling
- Facilitate a compassionate plan for the day the child is place with the family
- If desired, help with communication following the adoption
